Kilmac Civil were contracted for the installation of precast columns, piers, headstocks, culverts and base slabs for platform widening and extension. Additionally, Kilmac Civil installed all platform finishes, fencing and steps to the new extension.
The scope consisted of a multitude of works to get to the finished product such as excavation, formwork, steel work & concrete and crane lifts as well as coordinating with many different trades on site.
Scope Challenges:
- Industrial action put back the works for a long time.
- Lifting precast with restricted height because of power lines
- Long distance pumping of concrete over and above the power lines.
